You Are My Friend (Waffle Flower Tribal Bear)

Happy Saturday! I am here with my last post part of my Waffle Flower guest designer term. In this video I am using the lovely Tribal Bear stamp set and die cut set to create a quick watercolored sequin shaker card. Be sure to watch the video to catch all the details.

I started out by die cutting the tribal blanket out of a piece of pool colored card stock (this is the Shallows card stock by Hero Arts but unfortunately it has been discontinued). After die cutting that piece, I stamped the matching stamp using Lake Shores ink. It was easy to line up that stamp since the die cut is slightly larger than the stamp. This way it’s easier to postion.

I colored the bear using the ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Coloring with these markers is so easy. However, you do need some specific products in order to get the colors moving well. First of all, you need to stamp your design using a waterproof ink. I recommend Archival Jet Black ink. Next, you need a good paper. I like to use cheap Bristol paper that I bought at a local supermarket. However, I heard that some of my crafty friends like using the Strathmore Bristol. Even though I always use the Pentel Aquash brush, you can also use a fine paint brush to blend the colors. It works well, too!

Obviously I had to create another shaker. I used the amazing Fuse tool from We R Memory Keepers again. In the video I explain you how you can create a really quick and easy shaker. After creating my shaker, I stamped some pretty patterns using the Tribal Bear set from Waffle Flower again. I love that stamp set!
