The Ton Couture Color Ink Review

Happy Saturday everybody! Because of my busy schedule, I wasn’t able to create a Saturday Stamp Day card and video but instead I am sharing a review on the Couture Color ink pads from The Ton.

The Ton recently released 31 ink pads including 25 dye inks, 4 hybrid inks and 2 pigment inks (including a first ever ROSE GOLD ink pad!). All of the colors can be either layered over each other or stamped individually. These inks can also be used for ink blending. I didn’t demonstrate that in the video but Effie (the owner of The Ton) did in THIS video.

All of the ink pads are for sale individuallyย or you can get them in a bundle of 3 colors. I particularly like the bundles since those 3 colors work really well together. Especially when you want to stamp a layered image such as the peonies I used. If you’re very enthusiastic about these inks, you can evenย purchase the entire collection in one click. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I swatched all of the colors individually and I also swatched all of the bundles using the Fresh Cut Peonies stamp set from The Ton. You can create those swatches yourself by downloading the file I created by clickingย HERE.

Here are my two favorite bundles of the entire collection of inks: the Ruby collection and the Peony collection. The Ruby collection comes with two beautiful soft pink shades and one bright pink color which looks almost like a red. While the Peony collection looks similar to the Ruby collection, it’s not entirely the same! The Peony collection comes with one very soft lilac and two brighter pink colors. This collection is more like a true pink while the Ruby collection has a bit more red in there.

If you’re a lover of anything purple, then the Amethyst collection is your cup of tea! This bundle comes with three rich purple tones. The Soft Amethyst color is the perfect light lilac color while the Violet Fringe is one of the most beautiful and rich purple inks I have ever seen. The Orchid collection comes with both pink and purple colors. Soft Orchid is Ballet Slippers‘ big sister while Orchid Crush is like ‘the big momma’ of those 3 lilac toned colors.

Like I showed in my video, Ballet Slippers, Soft Orchid and Orchid Crush is the perfect combination if you want to get a pretty lilac flower. ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyway, the Orchid collection comes with those two pretty lilac colors and with the most perfect fuchsia ink out there!

The Citrine and Coral collection remind me of spices and spicy food! If you’re looking for a good combination to stamp yellow flowers, then the Citrine collection is for you. Vanilla Frosted Cupcake is a lovely light yellow shade and I think thatย color sounds so fun and cute. Next, we have the Coral collection. Oh me, oh my! Look at that Peach Blossom color! I have been looking for a true peach color for a long time now and I think this one is simply sublime.

Let’s get on with some blue tones. You all know how much I adore any mint and turquoise colors, right? When I saw the Minted collection I felt satisfied. Lofty Mint is a super pretty soft mint color while the Bright Emerald color is like the Tiffany & Co’s blue. The Hot Tourmaline is a very pigmented and rich turquoise. For those who are a big fan of true blue colors, I have good news! The Blues collectionย covers three solid blue colors. I particularly like the Parisian Blue color!

I rarely use gray inks but I think I’ll be using them more often since the Pewter collection is very nice! This bundle comes with Crystal Pewter, a soft gray which would look very pretty for soft background! Smoky Quartz is the perfect mid tone between the lightest color and the Light Onyx color.

I didn’t swatch the Onyx bundle on a larger card, since this bundle comes with two black inks and a white pigment ink. The Caviar color is a hybrid ink. That means this ink is Copic friendly! Yay for that! The Noir color is your standard black dye ink, while the Hampton White pigment ink is a nice and basic… well… white pigment ink of course! ๐Ÿ™‚

I am a lover of anything rose gold lately so when I heard The Ton would be releasing a rose gold pigment ink, I was stunned! The Rose Gold Bangle ink pad comes with the empty ink pad and a bottle of ink. Simply grab your empty ink pad and squeeze out the pigment. You don’t need a lot of ink to cover your stamp, so there’s no need to use the whole bottle. Be sure to keep and use the plastic cap that comes with this ink pad because it will prevent the ink pad from drying out.

This color is simply gorgeous! It’s hard to catch on camera for some reason, but I promise you, it looks fabulous! There’s even some shimmer and glitter in that ink which makes it even more prettier.

So, this blog post is filled with a lot of information that I hope you find useful. ๐Ÿ™‚ I tried out every single ink pad and I really like all of them. It’s hard picking favorites but I decided to put together my top 3 of individual colors…

And a top 3 of bundles…

That’s it for now! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my video and read my long blog post. If any of you have these inks already, be sure to leave your thoughts in the comment box! Also, if you have any questions simply email me or leave a comment here and I’ll answer as soon as possible. ๐Ÿ™‚ See you soon! xo
