Adding finishing touches to cards with Tonic Nuvo products

Hi, friends. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know I’m a big fan of adding finishing sparkly touches to my cards. Sequins are my favorite embellishments out there since they’re available in many different colors and sizes. However, lately I see so many crafters using – and praising, Nuvo Drops. I purchased a couple of these a while ago and this time I finally got around to using them along with other Tonic products. ⭐️✨

Make sure to watch the video tutorial below. Check the supply list at the end of this blog post for links to all the products I used to make this card.

Patterned paper and punches were the first card making products I ever purchased along with stamps and ink. Because die cuts are more popular than punches lately, I haven’t used my punches in a couple of years. I own a lot of patterned paper but rarely use it. Since I’m still trying to get my creative mojo flowing again, I decided to challenge myself. 💡🤔 Jusin Timberlake has brought sexy back but now I’m bringing punches and patterned paper back. Hahah. 😂 Anyway, I used a Fiskars circle squeeze punch and some pretty patterned paper from Pinkfresh Studio. Don’t you just love the patterned paper I used? It has this collage and airy feel to it which I think is really great.

The Bitty Bears stamp set from My Favorite Things is one of my favorite stamp sets out there. There are so many options with these cute little fellas. I actually colored more bears than just this one. I think I’ll be using those on future cards. To add some dimension to the cupcake I used a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen and a coat of Nuvo Crystal Glaze. I also used Tonic’s Gold Dust glitter card stock to add more interest and sparkle to the sentiment banner. The sparkle on this card stock is so vibrant and the glitter doesn’t rub off. To finish everything off I used Nuvo Drops to ‘pimp’ some clear sequins. This is a fun way to cover up the little hole and to bring your sequins to the next level.

That’s it for now. I hope you enjoyed this card making video. Let me know in the comments if there’s any type of product you haven’t used in a while. Go ahead and set yourself a little challenge. Big hugs! ❤️

  1. This is so cute! I think the sequin’s with the Nuvo Drops look like little flowers ^__^ I’ll have to give this try. I have lots of patterned paper, too. I have not used my patterned paper much because I have been having fun creating my own backgrounds with distressed inks and watercolors. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
