Pearlescent Backgrounds with Tonic Nuvo Embellishment Mousse

Hi all! Last week I received a package filled with Tonic goodies. Lots of fun stuff including the Nuvo Embellishment Mousse. There are so many options with this product. In this video I’m showing you how to create a pearlescent ombré background with a stencil. I’ll be showing more techniques in upcoming videos. 😀

The Embellishment Mousse is very thick. At first it may seem impossible to use with stencils. However, the more you work with it, the more it spreads nicely. I used an old daisy stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop. However, the Bold Daisy stencil from Hero Arts would be a great alternative! You can also rub the products directly onto paper using your finger. Or if you add water to it, it can be used as paint since it’s water based.

It leaves a beautiful pearlescent metallic finish which I think is fantastic. 💛 In total there are 24 colors. I got 6 of the softer, pastel colors. I used Peony Pink, Coral Calypso, Lemon Sorbet, Spring Green, Aquamarine and Lilac Lavender. These are perfect for Spring themed cards, don’t you think?

I colored one of the bunny images of the Honey Bunny Boo set from Heffy Doodle. I stamped little butterflies around the bunnies with The Ton’s Couture Color Ink. This is my favorite ink because it comes in so many colors and because they give a solid impression every single time. Finally, I finished off my card with Nuvo’s Shimmer Pen and a coat of Crystal Glaze.
