Hey there, stamping friends! It’s official: I graduated from high school and I am ready for my longest Summer Break ever. In today’s Saturday Stamp Day video I am showing you a card inspired by THIS image from Pinterest. Ice cream cones and flowers? Yes, please!

A while ago, Simon Says Stamp released a new line of products called “Color of Fun“. When I saw the Cone Building set, I knew that I wanted to do something creative with it. Instead of stamping actual ice cream, I filled up the cone with flowers using the Life is a Journey set along with the Cone Building set.

Happy Birthday card made by Laura Sterckx using Simon Says Stamp Cone Building and Life is a Journey stamp set.

I used a variety of dye inks to stamp the images on this card. My personal favorites are the Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp dye inks because they dry super smoothly. For the greeting, I heat embossed a sentiment from the More Sketchy Banner Greetings stamp set from SSS. Since I had a lot of enamel dots that were unused, I decided to use those instead of sequins today! Finally, I added some subtle watercoloring using Spun Sugar Distress Ink.

Hello, friends! My exams are officially finished and I am ready for graduation this Friday! In today’s video I am giving a closer look at the Sending Sunshine Kit from Create A Smile and I am showing you how to create a watercolored card using this fun kit.

When I saw the kit, I immediately knew I had to use the adorable jellyfish stamp from the Sending Sunshine stamp set from the kit. I colored them using Copic markers. I thought the jellyfish could use an extra oomph so I added a layer of glitter using a Clear Wink of Stella pen.

Watercoloring is so much fun and the bright colors I used scream summer to me. I used Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar, Dried Marigold and a hint of Tattered Rose. Whenever I do a watercolor background, I like to add a soft wash of color first using lots of water. After the first layer is completely dry, I add a second layer using more color and less water to achieve a bright watercolored look! Finally, I finished off the card using Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Hey, friends! It’s Laura here and I am so excited to back here with an all new Saturday Stamp Day card and video. My exams aren’t completely finished since I have two more to go (French and English), but I was able to make a card, film it and post it. Thank you for your support during my exams. I can’t wait for my Summer Break to kick off next Friday! 🙂

In today’s video, I am using the new Fintastic Friends stamp and die cut set from Lawn Fawn. This set is jam packed with cute images, sentiments and little elements.

During my study breaks, I like to watch videos from other card makers. A couple of days ago, I watched THIS video by the super talented Nicole Gavaldon. She did some watercoloring with Distress Ink and since watercoloring was my obsession a while ago, I decided to create another watercolored background. For my background, I used mainly Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers with a touch of Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio.

(I used my new camera, Sony DSC-HX90, for this picture! I have done zero editing this time and I am so happy with the quality. The exposure and colors are just by the settings of the camera. I love it!)

Saturday Stamp Day - You're Fintastic using Lawn Fawn (Sequin Shaker + Watercoloring) by Laura Sterckx.

Since it has been a while since I created card, I couldn’t resist to make another sequin shaker for these cute little fish. I used Silver Shimmer beads from Pretty Pink Posh along with Lavender Moon iridescent sequins and some of my favorite Sparkling Clear sequins from PPP. For the sentiment on this card, I used vellum and white embossing powder from WOW which is absolutely perfect to heat emboss greetings. Love it!

That’s it for today! Thank you so much for stopping by at my blog and I cannot wait to start sharing cards and videos with you all. xo

I can’t wait until June 23rd so I can start using some new products I recently purchased and share new blog posts and videos.

Since I don’t have any cards to share yet, I thought I’d make it up to you by doing a little giveaway! A couple of days ago, my friend, Catherine Pooler from StampNation told me she has a new card class called In The Mood. I have been previewing the class and it is looking wonderful already so I can’t wait to check out the full class! Want to know what this class is all about? Here’s a little description:

“You can spend hours combing the internet looking for ideas an inspiration, but that severely cuts into your crafting time, right? We did the hard work for you. We gathered amazing photo and color inspirations and turned them into 6 ridiculously inspiring Mood Boards. In total there are 21 video tutorials by 26 top notch designers.”

Sounds pretty awesome, huh? I am giving away ONE spot to this class. Simply leave a comment here by Saturday, June 20th at 11:59 p.m. EST for your chance to win.
