Happy Saturday! 🙂 We are suffering from a heat wave here in Belgium and I am slowly melting. Fortunately, I was able to escape from the heat in my craft room to film a new video for you.

In today’s video I am creating a watercolored scene using Distress Inks and the Playful Pups stamp and die cut set from Mama Elephant.

Creating a watercolored scene is easy and fun! I truly believe everyone can do this since there is no right or wrong with this technique. First, I like to add water to an area to get the colors moving around. Then, I add a first layer of color by using more water than ink. After heat setting that, I add a second layer using more ink and less water.

This outdoor scene asked for a furry friend. The Playful Pups stamp set from Mama Elephant is my cup of tea since I am more of a dog person than a cat person (however, I do appreciate cute cat paws and cuddles!). I colored the doggy using Copic Sketch Markers. The more I color with these markers, the more I love them. To finish off the card, I adhered some Spring Flowers sequins by Pretty Pink Posh just because I am all about flowers.

That’s it for now! Enjoy your weekend! xo

Hey there, stamping friends! It’s official: I graduated from high school and I am ready for my longest Summer Break ever. In today’s Saturday Stamp Day video I am showing you a card inspired by THIS image from Pinterest. Ice cream cones and flowers? Yes, please!

A while ago, Simon Says Stamp released a new line of products called “Color of Fun“. When I saw the Cone Building set, I knew that I wanted to do something creative with it. Instead of stamping actual ice cream, I filled up the cone with flowers using the Life is a Journey set along with the Cone Building set.

Happy Birthday card made by Laura Sterckx using Simon Says Stamp Cone Building and Life is a Journey stamp set.

I used a variety of dye inks to stamp the images on this card. My personal favorites are the Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp dye inks because they dry super smoothly. For the greeting, I heat embossed a sentiment from the More Sketchy Banner Greetings stamp set from SSS. Since I had a lot of enamel dots that were unused, I decided to use those instead of sequins today! Finally, I added some subtle watercoloring using Spun Sugar Distress Ink.

Simon Says Stamp sent me the Cone Building stamp set. Thanks, Simon! 🙂

Hello, friends! My exams are officially finished and I am ready for graduation this Friday! In today’s video I am giving a closer look at the Sending Sunshine Kit from Create A Smile and I am showing you how to create a watercolored card using this fun kit.

When I saw the kit, I immediately knew I had to use the adorable jellyfish stamp from the Sending Sunshine stamp set from the kit. I colored them using Copic markers. I thought the jellyfish could use an extra oomph so I added a layer of glitter using a Clear Wink of Stella pen.

Watercoloring is so much fun and the bright colors I used scream summer to me. I used Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar, Dried Marigold and a hint of Tattered Rose. Whenever I do a watercolor background, I like to add a soft wash of color first using lots of water. After the first layer is completely dry, I add a second layer using more color and less water to achieve a bright watercolored look! Finally, I finished off the card using Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Hey, friends! It’s Laura here and I am so excited to back here with an all new Saturday Stamp Day card and video. My exams aren’t completely finished since I have two more to go (French and English), but I was able to make a card, film it and post it. Thank you for your support during my exams. I can’t wait for my Summer Break to kick off next Friday! 🙂

In today’s video, I am using the new Fintastic Friends stamp and die cut set from Lawn Fawn. This set is jam packed with cute images, sentiments and little elements.

During my study breaks, I like to watch videos from other card makers. A couple of days ago, I watched THIS video by the super talented Nicole Gavaldon. She did some watercoloring with Distress Ink and since watercoloring was my obsession a while ago, I decided to create another watercolored background. For my background, I used mainly Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers with a touch of Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio.

(I used my new camera, Sony DSC-HX90, for this picture! I have done zero editing this time and I am so happy with the quality. The exposure and colors are just by the settings of the camera. I love it!)

Saturday Stamp Day - You're Fintastic using Lawn Fawn (Sequin Shaker + Watercoloring) by Laura Sterckx.

Since it has been a while since I created card, I couldn’t resist to make another sequin shaker for these cute little fish. I used Silver Shimmer beads from Pretty Pink Posh along with Lavender Moon iridescent sequins and some of my favorite Sparkling Clear sequins from PPP. For the sentiment on this card, I used vellum and white embossing powder from WOW which is absolutely perfect to heat emboss greetings. Love it!

That’s it for today! Thank you so much for stopping by at my blog and I cannot wait to start sharing cards and videos with you all. xo
