Not sure where to look first? I listed my favorite sets for you. Have fun shopping. 💛 I’ll be back tomorrow with a new blog post and card making video tutorial. Big hugs.

Happy Monday, friends. It definitely is a happy Monday for me since I finished my exams. Can you believe this was the very last time I had exams? I’m so happy and relieved. 😀 Now I have to wait until February 2nd to get my results back. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. 🍀🤞🏻

However, busy times are coming. From mid-February until mid-May I’ll be doing an internship at kindergarten (the 4 and 5 year olds this time) and also an internship at an international school. It’s going to be so much fun. What’s up next? Well, after I finished my internship I’ll officially graduate as a kindergarten teacher. I honestly can’t wait to get to get to work and have my own class.

I’m looking forward to graduating because I can’t wait to have my own class and I’m also looking forward to more crafty time. No more studying and working on assignments. Of course teaching requires a lot of prep work at home but it’ll be less intense as college stuff.

Save 20% on the Art Supply Category at Ellen Hutson with coupon code artsy2018.

When I got home from school today, I saw a fun little email popping up in my mailbox. It’s this month’s newsletter from Ellen Hutson. And guess what? There’s a GREAT coupon code included to save 20% in the Art Supply category. Use coupon code artsy2018 from now until January 17th.

Browsing through categories can be quite overwhelming so I listed some of my favorite picks. These are products I personally use or are on my own wish list. 💁🏻‍♀️

That’s it for now. Happy shopping and once the sun starts to shine a bit more, I’ll be back with a new card making video. Sending big hugs. ❤️

New Year's Resolutions + Finding My Love for Card Making Again

The holidays are officially over and the new year has kicked off. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season with your family and loved ones and I wish you all the best for 2018. ⭐️ One of my New Year’s resolutions is to rekindle my love for card making. Because the past couple of months have been so busy I rarely had time to make cards. When I did have some time I would usually have to hurry up and rush. That’s not relaxing at all. So in 2018 I want to find my mojo again and make more time for card making. From experience I noticed it’s not always that simple to get your creative mojo back and keep it flowing.

Below, I’m listing some tips and tricks that are hopefully helpful to both me and other card makers.

Sometimes an eye-catching color scheme is enough to get your creative juices flowing. I have a Pinterest board filled with color combinations. In the past these combos have helped me when stamping a background or when coloring images. In addition to color schemes, card sketches can be a quick option. There are many card sketches out there. In fact, My Favorite Things has a fun challenge blog with both card sketches and color schemes.

I often read my favorite card makers’ blogs to see what they have been up to. These crafty ladies inspire me every time they post a project. Why not make a card inspired by  your favorite card maker? You could incorporate their favorite techniques, colors or products. Another option is to CASE one of their cards. That means you “copy and share everything” from their original design. Make sure to give the original designer credit, though. 😄 By the way, you don’t have to necessarily copy the full design. When I CASE a card, I usually switch up the colors and products to make the design my own.

The most important thing to remember, card making should be fun and relaxing. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Like my dear friend Julia said on Instagram a couple of days ago, the cards you see on blogs and social media are the result of trial and error. Mistakes happen. Don’t judge yourself or compare yourself to others. So what if a card doesn’t turn out the way you’d planned? It’s just paper, stamps and ink. 🤔 Experiment with new techniques and products and don’t put pressure on yourself.

Writing these tips make me want to go to my craft room right now and make a card. That’s a good sign, right?
Do you have any tips on how to find your creative mojo? We’re here to support each other. 💡❤️

Hi friends! Just popping in quickly to wish you a very Happy Holiday season and give you a little update on things.

I wish you lots of love, happiness and joy with your friends and family. Thanks for being such sweet and loyal blog followers. Hopefully I’ll be able to share a new card and video before New Year. I’m preparing for exams since those will be kicking off on January 10. Eep! Wish me luck.

Merry Christmas! Big hugs!!!! Xo
