Hello, friends! How are you doing? I hope you had a nice weekend. Did you make a lot of cards on World Card Making Day? 💛 Oddly enough, I never get to making cards on WCMD. Never! Oops. 🙊

Today I’m showing you how to make a quick heat emboss resist background with my latest obsession, Distress Oxide Ink Pads and Unity Stamps

Big background stamps are the best to experiment with lots of different techniques. This time I decided to work with the Yuletide stamp from Unity Stamps. I simply heat embossed it with Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder from Wow and then added color with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.

Even though it looks like I used two colors, I only used ONE! The trick to create a nice gradient is to apply the ink heavier around the edges of the paper and then blend your way to the center of the card without reinking.

Next I heat embossed a sentiment from the Full of Merry set from Unity. First I prepped my vellum with kitchen flour to make sure the embossing powder wasn’t going to stick everywhere. It looks like it really did the trick, because I ended up with a clean and crisp heat embossed sentiment. 😍

While my sentiment circle piece was flattening out under some books, I embellished the background with Tonic Nuvo Drops, a Spectrum Noir Shimmer Pen and Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze. ✨

That’s it for now. Thanks so much for being here! 💕 Make sure to follow me on Instagram for sneak peeks and regular updates. Xo
