Happy Friday, everybody! It’s Laura here and today I am sharing two projects in honor of the Spring 2016 Release Blog Hop from The Ton. The Spring 2016 Release is truly fabulous and I am sure that you will like the products as much as I do.

For my first card, I used the Love and a Dog stamp set from an earlier release combined with the brand new Doughnut Bar and Basic Labels sets.

doggyWords can’t explain how excited I was when I saw the new Doughnut Bar set back when Effie asked me to participate in the hop. It’s simply perfect. I stamped a fun and happy background with a bunch of the stamps using my favorite ink colors from The Ton. This card resembles my signature style perfectly. Pastel colors, a doggy, sequins and flowers.

I finished off this card by stamping a sentiment from the brand new Basic Labels set. I stamped it with black ink and I cut it out leaving a white edge around it. It looks really clean and it stands out against that donut background. Finally, I adhered a couple of sequins here and there.

For my second card, I used the new and gorgeous Hello Hummingbird set. I combined it with my favorite stamp set from The Ton ever: the Fresh Cut Peonies set.

theton-fullFor this card I don’t have a video since I basically only did stamping. 🙂 I started out by stamping the peonies on a white card in lots of different ink pads. For the orange/coral flowers I used Peach Blossom, Coralline and Coral Cavern inks from The Ton. I particularly like these inks because they end up drying so smooth and they work really well for layering. For the pink peony I used the Peony ink bundle and finally for the purple-ish peony I used the Orchid bundle.

theton-closeupI used the Mini MISTI tool to stamp all of the flowers and the bird. It makes it really easy to line up the stamp exactly where you want it to be. After stamping all of the flowers, I stamped the hummingbird using the brand new Hello Hummingbird set. This stamp set is simply gorgeous. I love it so much! I used the Citrine Collection for the main part of the body. For the orange pieces, I used Peach Blossom and Coralline ink. Finally for the pink part I used Hollywood Star and Cosmopolitan Pink ink.

By the way, if you have trouble lining up these stamps, check out the product page of each layering stamp set. This makes the stamping a lot easier! I always grab the layering guide while I am stamping these kind of images.

Finally, I stamped a sentiment using the new Basic Labels stamp set and I adhered some coordinating sequins from The Ton. 🙂

Happy Saturday, everybody! It has been a very long time since I posted a Saturday Stamp Day video so I am thrilled to finally share a new one. I finished my exams this week and I will be receiving my results this week, so fingers crossed! Unfortunately, I won’t be having a lot of time to recover from exams since I’ll have to start working on a project for college for the next two weeks. Yikes. Anyway, the good news is I will have a week off after the project is finished. 🙂

For today’s video, I played with a lot of products from some of my favorite companies including Create A Smile, The Ton and Els BrigĂ© Design (that’s a Belgian stamp company!). Now let me explain something before you may think the sentiment on my card is spelled wrong, lol! The sentiment is spelled “hoera’ because that’s the Dutch word for “hooray”.

I started out with the Lovely Critters stamp set from Create A Smile Stamps. I love that the designer and owner from Create A Smile, incorporated at least one heart in each critter! How cute is that?! I decided to use the snail and color it with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Next, I stamped a bold flower background using the Fresh Cut Roses stamp set from The Ton with their brand new Couture Color ink pads. You can get the inks I used individually or in a bundle!

You rarely see me using Dutch sentiments even though I speak Dutch and live in Belgium. However, since I was in need of some more birthday cards for friends and family, I used a beautiful sentiment stamp from Els Brigé Design. I recommend this set set to anybody who speaks Dutch because these sentiments are so pretty! I heat embossed the greeting with Parma Violet embossing powder from Wow! since that matched with the purple roses.

To add some more interest, I stamped some hearts here and there and of course a couple of sequins to double up the sparkle and shine. Overall, I am very glad with the way this card turned out! It just screams SPRING to me which is great because spring is my favorite season. 🙂 Also, these flowers better watch out because snails + flowers = trouble. They love to eat the dahlias in our garden overnight!

That’s it for now! Thanks so much for taking your time to watch my video and maybe even read my blog post! Big hugs all of you and I’ll see you soon! xo

Happy Thursday, everybody! I am so glad to be finally sharing another video with you. It has been a long time since I made a card and a video so it felt good being in the craft room again. I’ve been busy for school. Exams are starting on Monday so I’ve been studying a lot. Anyway, today I am here with a new project for Ready, Set, Stamp with LLC. Yay! 🙂

This month, my two friends Laurel and Catherine and I are showcasing the following products by Ellen Hutson: Bokeh Dots stamp set, Wild Garden dies and Zipper Panel dies.

I started out by stamping a polkadot background using the Bokeh Dots stamp set along with a circle patterned stencil. I used the stencil as a guide which made the stamping easier and faster. Next, I die cut one of the flowers using the Wild Garden dies. Since this is a very intricate die, I used the Precision Base Plate by Sizzix. This works really well when using wafter thin dies! I die cut the flower once more using Bristol paper. I put a dryer sheet under the paper. That way all of the pieces will stay put in that dryer sheet. This makes it easier to color those petals.

I colored the petals from the flowers using ZIG Real Color Brush Markers (Light Pink and Lemon Yellow). Using only two colors, I achieved a lovely gradient. My favorite brush to use with these markers, is the Pentel Aquash Brush. If you don’t have this brush, a regular paint brush would work as well. 🙂 For this card, I used the inlaid die cutting technique. This is a fun and simple technique that creates a “how did they do that” effect.

For the sentiment, I used the Zipper Panel dies from Ellen Hutson. I die cut the word die multiple times so I could create a thick and dimensional greeting. I adhered each layer using the Quickie Glue Pen. Even though this is nice adhesive, I ended up adhering the finished piece using Glossy Accents since this is a strong glue. Finally, I embellished my project with sequins and enamel dots. 🙂

Today’s video is part of Ready, Set, Stamp with LLC. This video series is a collaboration between me and my two friends Laurel Beard and Catherine Pooler. Each month we’re featuring a specific company and its products. The best part is that you’ll get three videos in total showcasing the same products AND there’s a giveaway, too!

On to the giveaway! Would you like to win a $25 gift card to Ellen Hutson? Simply leave comments on the three videos. Comments must be left by January 14th at 11:59 pm EST. There will be 3 winners!

Happy Saturday, friends! I’m sitting here with a big cold – yuck, but there’s something really fun happening today which makes me feel better! A fellow Belgian crafter, Els BrigĂ©, launched her own stamp company called Els BrigĂ© Designs. She released four stamp sets with Dutch sentiments and adorable images. I am thrilled to finally have some pretty Dutch sentiments! That way I can send more cards to my Belgian friends and family.

In today’s Saturday Stamp Day video, I am featuring the brand new Welkom Baby (this means “welcome baby”) stamp set from Els BrigĂ©. The sentiment I used means: “Congratulations on your little miracle.”. Isn’t that sentiment perfect for new parents?

ssd_penguinI started out by stamping the baby sentiment on some pool card stock using Lake Shores ink from Simon Says Stamp for some tone on tone stamping. I absolutely love the font of these sentiments! Els did such a great job designing these stamps. After I stamped the main piece of the card, I die cut a circle to create a sequin shaker. I decided to create another sequin shaker because I love to use the Fuse tool and because you love my shakers, so that makes me very happy! 🙂

ssd_close_upI created my sequin shaker using the Fuse tool from We R Memory Keepers and I also used the Laura’s Dreamy Blues sequin mix from The Ton. This is the mix that I put together! When I was putting together the mix, I was thinking about the beach and the ocean. However, you could use this mix for baby cards, Christmas cards or just everyday cards! Of course this card needed an extra sentiment so I stamped the greeting, which means “Congratulations on your little miracle.”, with some Versamark ink on vellum. Finally, I embossed the greeting with white embossing powder.

That’s it for today! Be sure to check out the Els BrigĂ© Designs blog for more inspiration using these new products. Big congrats, Els! I am over the moon excited for you!
