Hi, all! How are you doing? My Summer Break is nearby and I’m excited. ūüėĄ¬†I can’t believe I’ll finally be graduating as a preschool/kindergarten teacher. I’m already sending out my cover letter to nearby schools. Fingers crossed I can start working as a teacher in september. ūü§ěūüŹĽūüćÄ

In today’s video I’m showing you how to create an ink blended and stenciled beach scene featuring the Beach Babies set from Sunny Studio. These cute images are so much fun to color. ‚ėÄūüíõ

I started out by stamping and coloring some of the images from the Beach Babies set. While coloring I noticed I need to expand my Copic marker collection for more skin tones and hair colors. Do you have any recommendations? After I was done coloring these kids, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Next, it was time to ink blend the beach scene with Distress Ink and masking paper. I used Tumbled Glass and Broken China for the ocean. For the sand, I used Antique Linen and Vintage Photo. I added more dimension to these pieces with a stencil and brown Copic markers.

Finally, I stamped a sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I curved this clear stamp so it would match the circle shape. To finish this card off, I added a coat of sparkle with the Clear Overlay Spectrum Noir Pen and Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze. ūüíę

That’s it for now. Thanks for stopping by. Big hugs. ūüíĆ

Happy Wednesday, friends! A couple of days ago, I picked up some new Lawn Fawn goodies. I ordered these from Erwtje, a Belgian online shop. The Beam Me Up set inspired me to create a galaxy background. Honestly, I was a bit afraid since I have never tried ink blending a galaxy background. But I think I did pretty well considering this was my first attempt. ūüĆĆ

I stamped and colored images from the Beam Me Up set with Copic Markers. These aliens are so much fun, don’t you think? ūüíú

Galaxy Background with Distress Ink and Tonic Nuvo Drops

These Distress Inks are the perfect combination to ink blend a galaxy background. Just layer all the colors together and keep blending until you’re happy with your result. I flicked some water droplets for some dimension. Then I used the Snowy Backdrop die from Lawn Fawn. As you can see you don’t specially have to use that die for winter themed cards. I filled up the little holes with a variety of Tonic Nuvo Drops. I paper pieced the stars with Black Sapphire Glitter Card Stock from Tonic.

For the black border, I created my own black card stock by ink blending Black Soot Distress Ink. However, this is optional since you could use black card stock and just skip this step. I don’t have a lot of black card stock left so I thought I’d save some by creating my own!

That’s it for now. I had so much fun creating this galaxy card even though it was a bit out of my comfort zone. Thanks for stopping by. Big hugs. ūüíĆ

Happy Saturday, friends! Today I’m part of Heffy Doodle’s blog hop in honor of their brand new Winter release. This new release is simply adorable and I think you’ll love this products as much as I do.

In this video, I’m showcasing the new Elfish Antics set ( HFF | SSS ) to make an elf-tasctic – lol, sequin shaker card! ūüôā

I had a lot of fun making this sequin shaker! I created my own patterned paper with the Peppermint Zone stencil from Winnie & Walter ( WNN ) and Festive Berries Distress Ink ( ELH | AMZUS | SSS ). These inks blend like butter! Because I haven’t used them in a while, I really noticed how amazing these inks are. ūüôā

I colored the sweet elf from the Elfish Antics set from Heffy Doodle ( HFF | SSS ). I used Copic Markers to color the image. I mentioned all of the colors in my video. This time I didn’t link to each marker since that’s very time-consuming and since I don’t have a lot of time nowadays, I couldn’t do that. ūüôā I hope that’s okay!

I filled up my sequin shaker with a variety of sequins from The Ton. That’s my favorite part of making a shaker! Picking different colors and shapes of sequins. So much fun.

Happy World Card Making Day, my friends! This is my first blog post for today. I’ll be sharing another one in a couple of hours! Last year I wasn’t able to do anything in honor of World Card Making Day so I thought I’d make up for that this year.

I’m joining Simon Says Stamp today to share some WCMD happiness. The lovely Susan from SSS, invited card makers from around the globe to make a Christmas/holiday card for the Simon Says Stamp blog to celebrate WCMD! More information about giveaways and linking up your own creations can be found at the end of this blog post.

I started out by creating an ink blended winter sky with Tumbled Glass ( SSS ), Broken China ( SSS ) and Faded Jeans ( SSS )Distress Inks. Then I stamped winter trees with the Modern Trees set from My Favorite Things ( SSS ). I ended up adhering 4mm sequins to serve as Christmas baubles. Doesn’t that look cute?

I colored three bears from the Bitty Bears set from My Favorite Things ( SSS )with Copic Markers. I colored one of the bears with darker shades of gray to have some variation. Creating shakers is so much fun! It’s one of my favorite techniques. In the past I created shakers in various ways but my favorite way to make shakers is with Fun Foam and acetate!

For the base of my shaker, I die cut a frame using the Pierced Rectangles die cut set from Spellbinders ( SSS )and Icy Mint card stock from Bazzil ( SSS ). Next I created a frame using Fun Foam ( SSS ). You could also use foam tape but make sure to coat the edges with kitchen flour or anything else that removes static cling (Martha Stewart Powder Tool, Embossing Buddy, etc). After adhering some acetate ( SSS ) I adhered the shaker piece to my card. Eep! Look how fun it turned out! If I say so myself, lol!

GIVEAWAY

Like I mentioned in the beginning of this blog post, this card is part of Simon Says Stamp’s special blog post in honor of World Card Making Day. In total there are 19 designers from around the globe who are joining these festivities! YOU can link up your own Christmas/holiday card in an InLinkz over at the Simon Says Stamp blog. Random winners will be chosen to win one of 10 $50 gift cards for the Simon Says Stamp store¬†as well as a one subscription to Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine. Good luck!
