Hi, there! Today I am here with a card (without a video, sorry!) for the Fall 2016 Release Blog Hop from The Ton. I made a pinecone shaker card with the brand new Holiday Cones set and I paired it up with the Hey Foxy set.

Be sure to keep on reading until the end of this blog post for more information on the blog hop order and the giveaways!

img_1619For my card, I decided to do some emboss resist watercoloring with the Holiday Cones stamp set. I heat embossed the second layer of the pinecones with white embossing powder on some Canson Watercolor Paper. Next, I applied lots of water to my watercolor paper to get the colors moving afterwards. I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors to create an ombré and splashed watercolored paper. For the brown ombré, I used no. 47. I also applied some copper flicks of paint with no. 90.

img_1622I simply couldn’t resist making another shaker card! I filled up my sequin shaker with the Rose Gold Couture Mix from The Ton along with some of the Gold Matte sequins. These gold matte sequins look so lovely with the watercolored background. I watercolored the fox from the Hey Foxy set with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I like to use Bristol Paper and a Pentel Aquash brush for a blended look. Finally, I stamped a sentiment from the Basic Labels stamp set in Dark Roast ink and adhered it on top of the shaker. Easy! 🙂

Happy Thursday, everybody! I am so glad to be finally sharing another video with you. It has been a long time since I made a card and a video so it felt good being in the craft room again. I’ve been busy for school. Exams are starting on Monday so I’ve been studying a lot. Anyway, today I am here with a new project for Ready, Set, Stamp with LLC. Yay! 🙂

This month, my two friends Laurel and Catherine and I are showcasing the following products by Ellen Hutson: Bokeh Dots stamp set, Wild Garden dies and Zipper Panel dies.

I started out by stamping a polkadot background using the Bokeh Dots stamp set along with a circle patterned stencil. I used the stencil as a guide which made the stamping easier and faster. Next, I die cut one of the flowers using the Wild Garden dies. Since this is a very intricate die, I used the Precision Base Plate by Sizzix. This works really well when using wafter thin dies! I die cut the flower once more using Bristol paper. I put a dryer sheet under the paper. That way all of the pieces will stay put in that dryer sheet. This makes it easier to color those petals.

I colored the petals from the flowers using ZIG Real Color Brush Markers (Light Pink and Lemon Yellow). Using only two colors, I achieved a lovely gradient. My favorite brush to use with these markers, is the Pentel Aquash Brush. If you don’t have this brush, a regular paint brush would work as well. 🙂 For this card, I used the inlaid die cutting technique. This is a fun and simple technique that creates a “how did they do that” effect.

For the sentiment, I used the Zipper Panel dies from Ellen Hutson. I die cut the word die multiple times so I could create a thick and dimensional greeting. I adhered each layer using the Quickie Glue Pen. Even though this is nice adhesive, I ended up adhering the finished piece using Glossy Accents since this is a strong glue. Finally, I embellished my project with sequins and enamel dots. 🙂

This month, we’re showcasing the Snowy Backdrop die from Lawn Fawn along with the Toboggan Together stamps and their coordinating dies. When we were deciding on which sets we were going to be using, we immediately knew we wanted to use the Toboggan Together set just because it’s so adorable!

DSC00676When I saw this set, I fell head over heels in love. Just look at that adorable penguin! I love that there are so many stamps in this set. That way it’s perfect to create your own little scenes. I started out by coloring the penguins, the sleigh and the other images using Copic markers. Then, I moved on to the actual scene. First, I did some watercoloring using the Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor set. You could use any watercoloring medium you may have, though! I just like this box because of all the pretty colors and because of those shiny metallic paints.

DSC00678After heat setting the watercolored background, I used a rectangle die cut from Lawn Fawn to create a nice and stitched edge.  Next, I took the beautiful Snowy Backdrop die from Lawn Fawn. You could use this die as a card front but you can also use it as a stencil like I did. Simply die cut the die out of some white card stock or acetate. For the white snowflakes and stars I used white embossing paste by Wendy Vecchi. Finally, I felt like the penguins needed a snowy and sparkly hill. I created my own glitter paper using Neutral Ultra Shimmer embossing powder by WOW. Of course you could also use some actual glitter paper. It’s up to you! 🙂
