Happy Saturday, everybody! I found a gap in my schedule so I was finally able to create a Saturday Stamp Day project and video for you. In this week’s video, I’m making a butterfly shaker card featuring brand new goodies from The Ton including their Beautiful Butterfly 1 stamp set and their Cotton Candy Puff Couture Mix.

This card came together relatively quickly even though it required a lot of stamping. I made a similar card a while ago with some cherry blossom stamps instead of butterflies. I thought it would be fun to make a butterfly version of the card.

When I started making this card, I didn’t really know which color scheme I should go for. I have a Pinterest board filled with color combinations, but sometimes I just grab a pretty sequin mix from my craft room and pick out ink pads that match with the sequins. In this case, I was inspired by Botanical Hues.

I randomly stamped all of the butterflies with a range of ink pads from The Ton: Rose Quartz, Soft Garnet, Vanilla Frosted Cupcake (sounds so cute!), Soft Garden and Blue Diamond. People often ask me which ink pads I recommend. I highly recommend The Ton’s Couture Color ink pads. They have a gorgeous and wide selection of color, refills are available, they stamp super smoothly and they blend like butter on paper. What more could you ask for? 🙂

Before I go, I wanted to mention The Ton’s Challenge Blog. 🙂 Their current challenge team is “Celebrate”, so there are many options to make a card. Think birthday, wedding, new job, baby, etc! You can check out their blog by clicking HERE. Good luck and have fun!

That’s it for now! Have a nice weekend and I’ll see you soon. Xo

Happy Saturday, everyone! How are you doing? I’m feeling so happy! My Colors and Cards class for Big Picture Classes is starting this Monday. Head over to my Instagram account to win a free month trial to take all BPC classes. Yay! And… I’m also super close to reaching 10,000 YouTube Subscribers. I will be hosting a video hop on September 5th with talented designers and guests to celebrate. So many fun things are happening! Anyway! It’s Saturday so that means it’s time for another Saturday Stamp Day card and video.

In this week’s Saturday Stamp Day video I’m creating a cherry blossom shaker card with goodies from The Ton.

This card came together so quickly. I enjoyed stamping the cherry blossoms from the “Wild Cherry Blossoms” stamp set from The Ton.

ssd-cherry-blossomsI started out by stamping my own patterned paper with the “Wild Cherry Blossoms” stamp set from The Ton. I inked up the flowers in soft lavender, pink and blue tones. For the inside of the flowers, I used darker tones. In the video, I mention the colors I’m using. All of the ink pads I used, are linked in the supply list below.

ssd-cherry-blossoms-closeupIt’s been way too long since I created a shaker card. Today I created a shaker with the Fuse tool from We R Memory Keepers. This is such an easy tool to create shaker cards fast! I filled up my shaker with Pink Peonies sequins from The Ton mixed with Crystal Flora and Glass Slipper sequins. Finally, I adhered a sentiment from the Basic Labels set from The Ton. 🙂

That’s it for this week. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my blog post and watch my video. See you soon. Xo

Happy Saturday, everybody! There are so many fun releases this month! I should really hide my wallet and protect my PayPal account from myself because I just want to buy so many new goodies. Anyway, last week I ordered the All Year Cheer set and the Friends for All Seasons: Fall set from WPlus9. I asked on my Facebook page which set you would like to see me use in this week’s video and you voted for the All Year Cheer set!

In this week’s Saturday Stamp Day video, I’ll be showing you how to stamp a fun fall scene with the All Year Cheer set from WPlus9 and ink pads from The Ton and Hero Arts.

This card came together quite quickly since I did a bunch of stamping. I think the touch of gold glitter embossing, makes the card pop.

Stamping A Fall Scene With WPlus9 All Year Cheer (Making Cards Is Fun by Laura Sterckx)I started out by die cutting a frame with the Katharine Cutaways die cut set from Winnie & Walter. Next, I stamped the branches with Found Topaz ink from The Ton. I really wanted to make a fall inspired card, so I created a rich fall color scheme. I stamped acorns, leaves and little flowers with various ink pads from The Ton and Hero Arts. Both of these brands offer quality ink pads. If I really have to pick a favorite, I would go with The Ton because of all of the gorgeous colors and because of the great quality.

Stamping A Fall Scene With WPlus9 All Year Cheer (Making Cards Is Fun by Laura Sterckx)After finishing my background, I stamped three little birds from the All Year Cheer set from WPlus9. I really like this set because you can stamp the top and the bottom portion of the bird separately. Think of all the fun colors you could use to stamp the birds! In the video, I mention all of the ink pad colors I used to stamp each bird. So, I got my background and my birds. Now I just needed a sentiment! I decided to do something special for this greeting. I mounted the sentiment on my Mini MISTI tool and did some masking. I stamped the bottom portion of the sentiment with Caviar ink from The Ton and I heat embossed the top portion with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Sparkle embossing powder. Doing this technique with the MISTI is so easy because your stamp is still in the same position. You could also do this with a regular acrylic block, though. Just take your time to line it up perfectly. 🙂

That’s it for now! Thank you so much for watching this week’s video. I will be back on Monday with an announcement. I can’t wait to share the news! See you then. Xo
