The Ton Spring 2016 Release Blog Hop

Happy Friday, everybody! It’s Laura here and today I am sharing two projects in honor of the Spring 2016 Release Blog Hop from The Ton. The Spring 2016 Release is truly fabulous and I am sure that you will like the products as much as I do.

For my first card, I used the Love and a Dog stamp set from an earlier release combined with the brand new Doughnut Bar and Basic Labels sets.

doggyWords can’t explain how excited I was when I saw the new Doughnut Bar set back when Effie asked me to participate in the hop. It’s simply perfect. I stamped a fun and happy background with a bunch of the stamps using my favorite ink colors from The Ton. This card resembles my signature style perfectly. Pastel colors, a doggy, sequins and flowers.

I finished off this card by stamping a sentiment from the brand new Basic Labels set. I stamped it with black ink and I cut it out leaving a white edge around it. It looks really clean and it stands out against that donut background. Finally, I adhered a couple of sequins here and there.

For my second card, I used the new and gorgeous Hello Hummingbird set. I combined it with my favorite stamp set from The Ton ever: the Fresh Cut Peonies set.

theton-fullFor this card I don’t have a video since I basically only did stamping. 🙂 I started out by stamping the peonies on a white card in lots of different ink pads. For the orange/coral flowers I used Peach Blossom, Coralline and Coral Cavern inks from The Ton. I particularly like these inks because they end up drying so smooth and they work really well for layering. For the pink peony I used the Peony ink bundle and finally for the purple-ish peony I used the Orchid bundle.

theton-closeupI used the Mini MISTI tool to stamp all of the flowers and the bird. It makes it really easy to line up the stamp exactly where you want it to be. After stamping all of the flowers, I stamped the hummingbird using the brand new Hello Hummingbird set. This stamp set is simply gorgeous. I love it so much! I used the Citrine Collection for the main part of the body. For the orange pieces, I used Peach Blossom and Coralline ink. Finally for the pink part I used Hollywood Star and Cosmopolitan Pink ink.

By the way, if you have trouble lining up these stamps, check out the product page of each layering stamp set. This makes the stamping a lot easier! I always grab the layering guide while I am stamping these kind of images.

Finally, I stamped a sentiment using the new Basic Labels stamp set and I adhered some coordinating sequins from The Ton. 🙂
